Good Intentions

I'm ashamed to look at the blog and realize that the last time I updated was in July. Here's another post to acknowledge how pitiful my blogging has become as a result of posting everything on facebook. Maybe I'll get back to the blog one day. Maybe. We'll see.

It's been too long!

My friend Jodi just mentioned that I haven't posted on the blog since January. I'm going to get busy!

Christmas Eve at the Godfrey's

Each year we spend Christmas Eve at the Godfrey's house and then on Christmas Day, they come to us. This year, Ken (Steve's brother) had a hip replacement just before Christmas, so we only had half of the festivities - the part at their house. Here are a couple of pictures.

Howard and Willa (Steve's mom and dad) are getting ready to share the Christmas story with us, as they do every year before we open the gifts.

Steve and Nick settle in to listen.

While Will video tapes the action.

Grand-Daddy (Sam Monroe, Willa's dad) was there.

And so was Mama G (Juanita Godfrey, Howard's mom).

Will and Nick were so excited to get a Wii!

And Guitar Hero World Tour. We've had a lot of fun with this toy!

We're blessed to have a great family and wonderful holiday traditions.

Candice's Cookie Decorating Party

Candice hosts a cookie decorating party each year. This year was great because Kim and Rachel got to come, too.

There were about 75 people there! We don't call Candice "Supersized" for nothing!

Will and Nick had a great time.

Thanks, Candice for a great night at your beautiful home.

Thanksgiving in Ohio

We had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving with our family in Ohio. They had their first snowfall right before we arrived, so on Thanksgiving morning, we had a sledding adventure. This was the first time Will and Nick had gone sledding on a real hill with ample snow, so we were pretty psyched about it!

Here they are, enjoying the ride.

My turn, with Nick.
Photobucket

Nick learned the most important lesson any Ohio kid can learn - don't eat yellow snow!
Photobucket

And PaPaw (my dad) got into the act, too! Note the ramp just to Papaw's left. It'll be important in the next photo when he attempts to jump it and...
Photobucket

takes a tumble!
Photobucket

And comes up laughing. What a sport!
Photobucket

We headed in for dinner later. Here are Nana and Grandma Kindig checking the meat. I'm pretty sure the oven wasn't behaving.
Photobucket

After a delicious dinner, we headed back outside for more snowy fun with Papaw and Mookie, the snowdog.

Dad attached the sled to the lawnmower, and we had a blast pulling each other around the backyard.
Photobucket

Will was meant to be a farmboy. He looks right at home on the lawn tractor!

A few snowballs were thrown. Go Will!

Dad and I goofed around with the camera while we waited for our turn.
Photobucket

And exhausted Nick did a terrible job of pretending to sleep with the dog and cat! He's cute, though!

Snowy fun in Ohio! What a treat.

Cutie Pie Pictures of Will

Will continues to dislike having pictures taken. I'm sure it's because he has had a camera in his face almost non-stop since birth. I enjoy his scowling pictures and the crazy faces he makes into the camera almost as much as his smiley ones, though, so it's all good!

What a little critter he is, but oh how we love him!

Back in the Fall

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the fall. I don't want you to miss them!

This was the day we finally cleaned up all the leaves in the the front yard. I should say that STEVE finally cleaned them up. Will, Nick, and I just played!

It took awhile for Will to successfully catch the football while running and landing in the leaves, but we got a few cool shots while trying!

Turning somersaults in the leaves was the most fun.

I even got into the act. What a dork. But it was a good time.

And here's Nick's seal of approval on playing in the leaves!
